About Us

Mike Purdy films in Budapest

In 1988 Mike began in foreign news in Africa, later securing the BBC contract to manage equipment and freelancers throughout the continent. 

For over ten years Mike worked with leading broadcast journalists including Jeremy Vine and George Alagiah, covering events that included the South African liberation struggle, Mandela release, and the Congo rebel takeover.  He also worked on documentaries for BBC Newsnight and Panorama.

 

Mike spent eight years as Deputy Production Manager for Cantos Communications and has a BA degree mastering in journalism and communication.

Andrew has over 25 year' experience as an award winning cameraman and editor. Andrew was with the BBC in Africa for seven years, and then spent nine years in London with the BBC filming news and award winning documentaries all over the world.

 

In 2001 he was the founding production head at Cantos 

Communications, pioneering high quality online corporate content.

Andrew has filmed for a wide range of clients and is now a licensed drone pilot.

 

Andrew has a degree in Economics, Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Cape Town.

Drone Filming

DJI MAVICPRO Drone used by Cygna.tv

Andrew is a fully licensed drone operator. He flies the versatile DJI MAVICPRO that offers beautifully sharp, stabilised and distortion-free 4K video footage.

 

The machine itself is incredibly portable and easy to introduce into all sorts of set-ups, Flying requires registering with the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), and a  fully fledged licence that complies with all current rules and regulations.
